Stranger Things is a beloved television show that took the world by storm ten years ago.
On July 15, 2016, the Duffer Brothers dropped the initial season and has not looked back since.
The production team’s deep dive into the 1980s iconography, music, and style was a huge factor in the show becoming popular and loved.
Since July of 2016, the Duffer Brothers released four more seasons, which have all been very successful.
Season five has been one of the most expensive seasons not only for the Duffer Brothers but also one of the most expensive TV seasons ever. Stranger Things Season five has reported of having a budget of $400 to around $480 million dollars for an 8-episode season.
The Duffer brothers set a budget of $50 – $60 million dollars per episode.
Season four of Stranger Things left us on a big cliffhanger, so returning with season five many fans were excited to have their questions answered.
While watching season five of Stranger Things I felt that the season was kind of rushed. Throughout the whole show of Stranger Things, Eleven and the others has been trying to stop and kill Vecna, but in the end Eleven was able to kill him in about 10 minutes.
I felt like the battle at the end should have been more intense and taken longer than 10 minutes. It took over ten years to figure out how to end up killing the largest villain within ten minutes? It makes no sense.
The show also introduced Will, one of the main characters, as to having powers and being connected to Vecna. With this newfound information, I am a little confused on how Will wasn’t affected at all once Vecna died.
I really enjoyed that the entire group was able to help Eleven defeat Vecna, but I think someone should have died during the battle. I would hate to see someone go, but I think it would have added to the season. Everything just went perfectly.
Another large component was the love triangle between Nancy, Steve, and Jonathan. I was very disappointed when Nancy did not choose Steve. I was a very big supporter of Nancy and Steve’s potential relationship.
While watching the scene of Nancy and Jonathan in the melting room, she had me convinced that she was in love with Steve and then mid-sentence, she stated that she didn’t want what he wanted and that she never loved him like that.
However, one relationship that survived was Max and Lucas. I was very happy when Max woke up from her coma. I was stressing the whole-time Max and Holly were talking instead of getting out of the Upside down.
I love Max and Lucas’s relationship, and I was really happy that they ended up together in the end.
Unfortunately, not everyone had a happy ending. Eleven gave her life to make sure to stop the scientist from creating more humans like her.
Her ending was very sad for me. I was very upset and when they started playing Purple Rain by Prince. It really touched my heart. I really wish they would have killed someone else off instead of Eleven.
Madelyn Morong, 11, hosted a Stranger Things season 5 watch party for her friends.
Morong prepared for this watch party by getting snacks, candy, and a red light to make her basement a little scarier.
She invited over three of her friends to her watch party. She also let her brothers stay and watch.
Morong was very excited to watch the new season because she has been a Stranger Things fan since the first season.
“Me and my brothers have been watching Stranger Things together for a long time. I’m happy I got to watch the final season with some of my friends,” said Morong.
Morong really enjoyed this season; she thought this season was very emotional.
“I think this season was one of the more emotional seasons. I cried a lot during this season,” said Morong.
One of Morong’s favorite scenes from the new season was when Max woke up from for two-year long comma and reunited with Lucas. She also really enjoyed the song Land Slide and Purple Rain.
Overall, Morong gave this season a 7/10 rating. She thought that Nancy and Jonathan should have died in the melting room to make the show a little more interesting.
“The troupe of almost dying and being saved kind of gets old,” said Morong.
Overall, Stranger Things season five brought the show to an Emotional and memorable close. Even though the show didn’t end how a lot of fans expected, the show still had very powerful scenes and relationships.
