For the 2025 fall season, Vala’s Pumpkin Patch in Gretna, Nebraska has opened many new attractions such as rides, shows, food, and shops. As someone who has been going to Valas since I was a child, I was excited. I truly love Vala’s and the fall vibes it brings.
Over the years, I have tried tons of their food. My personal favorite items to get are their massive turkey legs, chocolate chip cookies, and caramel apples.
Vala’s food is truly delicious but can be a little pricey, especially for families.
This fall season I took a trip to Vala’s. A ticket into the patch was $25.00. I got it at a reduced cost due to going on a weekday.
While there, I indulged in their Cold Apple Cider. A medium sized cup was $5. I had never had it before, but it was amazing. It was sweet but also had the perfect mix of sour.
Next, I had a caramel apple, which was $8. The caramel apple was amazing. The apple was fresh, and the caramel was so rich and sweet. The only downside was how messy it left me.
I also had the the turkey leg which was $16. The turkey leg was juicy and well flavored.
Both of these treats are such classics. It brought so much nostalgic feeling.
Another classic at Vala’s is the Giant Rocking Chair, a great photo opportunity. I always remember my mom having my brothers and I pose for a photo by the chair.
This is Vala’s 41st season of being opened. For this anniversary, Vala’s has opened up two new rides. One of them being The Apple Swing.
The new addition is a family friendly carousel swing that allows riders to swing around and see the views of the Vala’s 45-acre apple orchard.
I went on this ride, and I loved it. It gave my stomach butterflies from how high it goes while also feeling safe.
The ride lasted for a while and made me giggle and laugh a lot.
The TikTok creator, Jill Dubzinski went to Vala’s to check out the new Apple Swing Ride. She has a young daughter and a young son who loved it.
“My son rode it for the first time, and he loved it, my entire family did,” said Dudzinski.
The Apple Swing Ride is an amazing addition to Vala’s.
Vala’s also added a rollercoaster, Tim’s Runaway Grain Wagons. The ride is named after the founder of Vala’s Pumpkin Patch, Tim Vala.
“This is appropriate name because of all the up and downs Tim and Jan endured when starting up their business,” said Kelsey Donovan, the couple’s daughter, and Co-CEO of Vala’s.
According to reviewers on Tik Tok, many find the ride to be a lot of fun. It was described as twisted and fast. A specific TikTok creator, Mikayla Cooley took her daughter on the new roller coaster.
“She loves the new coaster at Vala’s Pumpkin Patch,” said Cooley.
This roller coaster is very kid friendly while also being fun for older kids and adults too.
A staple for Vala’s is their Hayrack Ride to the Pumpkin Patch where you can pick out a pumpkin to buy and take home at the end. Personally, this is one of my favorite things to do. My family and I would always take the bumpy ride out and make the trek to find the perfect pumpkin.
I went on a Hayrack Ride this year and it was such a good time. I was able to see the pretty views of Vala’s and take photos in the pumpkin patch.
I also enjoy the Jumping Pillows. They are unique and not something you see everywhere. They are so much fun and something for everyone.
When I was younger, my brothers and I would jump for hours on the jumping pillows. We learned new tricks and always asked to stay longer.
Vala’s added new spooky features to their Haunted Farmhouse. They added new animatronics such as a new women playing the violin.
When you get to the music room, the women playing the violin, gives a good scared by turning around once she is done playing.
“Something that happens is pretty cool and pretty scary,” said Backroads Tourist, a reviewer on YouTube.
This year I went inside the Haunted Farmhouse, and it was much longer than I thought, which I really enjoyed. It also had creative paintings on the walls and interactive animatronics.
The Haunted Farmhouse is great for all ages. It allows older kids to still have fun while younger kids won’t be up late and scared.
I love Vala’s Pumpkin Patch and everything they have added. They have created a place that holds many memories and allowed for more memories to be created. Everyone should take a trip down to Valas to see what is new. I can’t wait to see what they add next year.
