It was expected that “A Charlie Brown Christmas” would only be available for Apple TV+, but according to USA Today, on November 22, it was announced that Apple TV+ and PBS will both air, just in time for Christmas.

“A Charlie Brown Christmas” can be streamed for free on Apple TV+ from December 11-13. IT will air on PBS commercial free on December 13, according to the Albuquerque Journal.

Fans of Charlie Brown and his friends got ready in October to watch “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” only to find out that Apple TV+ acquired the rights to the special (New York Times).

This special, along with “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” special, was streamed exclusively on Apple TV+.

“A Charlie Brown Christmas” is based off the Peanuts comics written by Charles Schultz, who wrote the short episode.

Since its first airing in 1965, the short had been showing consecutively every year, according to the New York Daily News.

According to the New York Daily News, “A Charlie Brown Christmas” was the second-most watched program for the week of December 5, 1965, trailing only after “Bonanza”.
