Crumbl Cookies has sparked a lot of attention over the years it has been open. With lines often wrapped around the block, and social media influencers posting and reviewing their weekly Crumbl box, it seems like these cookies are all anyone can talk about.
As someone who has never actually tried Crumbl Cookies, I was curious to see if they lived up to the hype. Are these cookies really that good or is this just another overhyped food trend?
Well, most people find Crumbl to be delicious. The cookies are pretty big, and they offer a lot of different flavors to choose from. The different weekly cookies are what mostly drives people to Crumbl. New flavors each week equals customers coming back to try them. This marketing strategy builds on anticipation and excitement each week.
They look very flavorful and fun to eat. I was excited.
Before trying these cookies, I needed to see the price. Going into it, I did not assume they were going to be cheaper side because of their size. Well, it is safe to say that they are not on the cheaper side. A single cookie ranges anywhere from $5 to $7. A four pack is $16.49, a 6-pack is $23.29, and a 12-pack is $43.99.
They carry other things like mini desserts and items such as milk, both chocolate and regular, Crumbl water, and a cookie cutter for the cookies.
At Crumbl, I decided to go to the self-help kiosk, since I have never been and did not know exactly what I wanted. The decision was hard, but I ended up picking the Confetti Milkshake Cookie, the Cookies and Cream Cake ft. Oreo, the Salted Caramel Cheesecake Cookie, the Kentucky Butter Cake Cookie, the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cookie, and the Brownie Batter Cookie.
While the ordering process was easy and the waiting time was only 3 minutes, I feel it is safe to say that Crumbl cookie is overrated. The cookies were not terrible, but I would never go back and get more. While the cookies were very visually appealing, the taste did not meet my expectations.
I was disappointed after biting into each cookie and not finding much flavor. The cookies themselves were bland. The only thing that added a little flavor to the cookie were the toppings and the frosting. If the cookie did not have any toppings, they would just be nasty.
When tasting a cookie, I do not look for the flavor of the toppings because I see those as just add-ons. The main attraction should be the cookie. The frosting seems like a cover up rather than an enhancement for the cookie.
Crumbl’s popularity on social media, especially TikTok, is undeniably large. Crumbl has made these cookies look like an experience and not just a snack. Sometimes social media can overhype things that are basic. For me, Crumbl was more of a visual treat than a tasteful one.
Crumbl might be fun to try once, especially if you’re into bold picturable desserts. If you are looking for cookies with deep flavor in every bite and not just sugar and frosting, it might not be worth the splurge.
